Kendrick Lamar Section.80: A Review and Analysis of the Album

Kendrick Lamar Section 80 Zip Download: Why You Should Listen to This Classic Album

If you are a fan of hip hop music, you have probably heard of Kendrick Lamar, one of the most acclaimed and influential rappers of his generation. His albums have received universal praise from critics and fans alike, and have earned him multiple Grammy Awards, a Pulitzer Prize, and a spot on Time's list of the 100 most influential people in the world. But before he became a global superstar, he was a young artist from Compton, California, who released his debut studio album Section.80 in 2011.

Section.80 is a concept album that explores the lives and struggles of the children born in the 1980s, who grew up in the aftermath of the crack epidemic, the AIDS crisis, and the Reagan era. The album showcases Kendrick Lamar's lyrical skills, storytelling abilities, and social consciousness, as he tackles topics such as racism, poverty, addiction, violence, love, and faith. The album also features guest appearances from his fellow Top Dawg Entertainment labelmates Ab-Soul, ScHoolboy Q, Jay Rock, and Alori Joh, as well as other artists such as RZA, GLC, BJ the Chicago Kid, Colin Munroe, and Ash Riser.

Section.80 was released independently by Top Dawg Entertainment on July 2, 2011, through digital platforms such as iTunes and Spotify. The album received positive reviews from critics, who praised Kendrick Lamar's originality, creativity, and maturity. The album also performed well commercially, debuting at number 113 on the US Billboard 200 chart and selling over 130,000 copies in the US as of February 2014. The album spawned three singles: "HiiiPoWeR", "A.D.H.D", and "Ronald Reagan Era (His Evils)", which all received moderate airplay on radio and online platforms.

Background

Kendrick Lamar began working on Section.80 in January 2011, after releasing his fourth mixtape Overly Dedicated in 2010. He recorded most of the album in his mother's kitchen and his tour bus, using minimal equipment and resources. He said that he wanted to make the album "as organic as possible", and that he left some songs unfinished for months to capture his true emotions. He also said that he was inspired by a visit to South Africa in 2010, where he witnessed poverty and injustice firsthand.

The title of the album refers to Section 8 housing, a government program that provides subsidized housing for low-income families in the US. Kendrick Lamar said that he chose this title because he wanted to represent his generation, who grew up in such environments and faced various challenges and temptations. He also said that he wanted to create a soundtrack for his generation, who are often misunderstood and stereotyped by society.

The album features production from various producers, mostly from Top Dawg Entertainment's in-house production team Digi+Phonics (consisting of Sounwave, Tae Beast Thc and Willie B ), as well as J Cole Wyldfyer Terrace Martin and Tommy Black The album also incorporates elements of jazz soul funk and boom bap influenced by artists such as Tupac Shakur The Notorious B.I.G. Nas Jay-Z Eminem Outkast and Dr Dre
